2019 Five Star Changes from CMS

On March 6th, 2019, CMS announced changes to the Five Star calculations for SNF providers effective April 2019. All three domains of the quality rating program were impacted, including new staffing methodology making PBJ data of RN coverage critical for staffing star assignment. Like staffing, the Quality Measures now have two sub-star assignments which impact the overall quality measure domain. This presentation will review the changes, providing insight to providers on how they can explain scoring changes to stakeholders in their markets and offer strategic  ideas for future Five Star success.
